How to Get Your New Website Indexed on Google in Under 48 Hours

A new website is not automatically visible in Google

Publishing your website is a milestone, but it is not the same as being indexed. Google needs to discover your pages, crawl them, understand what they are about, and decide whether they belong in its index.

Sometimes that happens quickly. Sometimes it takes longer. No legitimate process can guarantee that a page will rank—or even be indexed—in exactly 48 hours. What you can do is remove avoidable delays and give Google a clean, useful website to process.

Here is the fast-action workflow I recommend.

Step 1: Confirm that your website is live

Open your domain in a private browser window. Check the homepage, main navigation, contact page, and any important offer pages.

Look for four basics:

•

The website loads without a password or "coming soon" screen.

•

Your main pages are linked from the navigation or another crawlable page.

•

Your pages work on mobile.

•

Your site uses HTTPS with an active SSL certificate.

If a page is not linked anywhere, Google may have difficulty finding it even if the URL exists.

Step 2: Add and verify Google Search Console

Google Search Console is the free place to inspect how Google sees your website. Add your domain or URL-prefix property and complete verification using the method available for your setup.

Once verified, use the URL Inspection tool to test your homepage and your most important pages. It can show whether Google has a known version of the URL, whether indexing is allowed, and whether the page is eligible for indexing.

If the tool reports a blocking issue, fix that before requesting indexing.

Step 3: Submit your sitemap

A sitemap is a file that lists important URLs on your website. Many website platforms generate one automatically. Enter your sitemap path in Search Console's Sitemaps report, then submit it.

A sitemap is not a ranking shortcut. It is a discovery aid. It helps Google understand which URLs you consider important, especially when your website is new and has few external links.

Check that the sitemap contains live, canonical pages—not deleted URLs, duplicate variations, private pages, or redirects.

Step 4: Request indexing for priority pages

Use URL Inspection for your homepage, primary service or product page, about page, and strongest supporting article. If the page passes the inspection, select the option to request indexing.

Do not repeatedly submit the same URL. Repeated requests do not force Google to crawl faster. A better approach is to improve the page, link to it from relevant pages, and check back later.

Step 5: Strengthen the page before you wait

Before you move on, make each priority page useful and specific:

•

Give it one clear purpose.

•

Write a descriptive title and meta description.

•

Use one natural H1 heading.

•

Explain who the page is for and what problem it solves.

•

Add a clear next step.

•

Link to related pages on your own website.

•

Add descriptive image alt text.

•

Remove placeholder copy and thin sections.

AI can help draft metadata and structure, but review every sentence. Google's guidance allows generative AI when the final content is helpful, accurate, original, and created for people—not mass-produced solely to manipulate search results.

Step 6: Create one legitimate discovery path

Share the new page from a relevant social profile, email announcement, partner page, or business listing. Do not buy low-quality links or submit your website to hundreds of irrelevant directories.

The goal is to create a real reason for people to visit—not to manufacture signals.

What to check after 48 hours

Return to Search Console and inspect your priority URLs. You may see that a page is indexed, still processing, or not yet available in Google's index. Those statuses are not a final judgment on your business.

If the page is not indexed, check for technical blocks, duplicate content, weak internal linking, or a page that offers very little unique value. Then improve the page and monitor it over the next several days.

Your simple launch sequence

Publish the site. Verify Search Console. Submit the sitemap. Inspect priority pages. Request indexing once. Strengthen the content. Share it with a relevant audience. Monitor rather than panic.

Fast indexing is useful, but useful content and a clear website structure are what create lasting search visibility.
