Stop Writing Boring Copy: 5 Copy-Paste AI Prompts That Turn Web Visitors into Buyers
AI cannot write persuasive copy about a business it does not understand
Most boring AI copy is not caused by AI being incapable of writing. It is caused by vague instructions.
“Write my website” gives the model almost nothing to work with. It does not know who your customer is, what they are worried about, what makes your offer different, or what action you want them to take.
Before using the prompts below, create a short business brief with your offer, audience, strongest result, objections, tone, proof, and primary call to action.
Prompt 1: Find the real customer problem
Use this before writing your headline:
I sell [offer] to [specific audience]. They are currently struggling with [problem]. Ask me 5 questions that will help uncover the emotional, practical, and financial impact of this problem. Then summarize the answers in plain English. Do not write sales copy yet.
This prevents you from writing about features before understanding the reason someone would buy.
Prompt 2: Write a benefit-led hero section
Using the business brief below, write 10 homepage hero options. Each option must include: a headline of 8–12 words, a supporting sentence of no more than 25 words, and one CTA button label of 3–6 words. Focus on the customer’s desired outcome, not vague words such as “transform,” “elevate,” or “unlock.” Make each option specific enough that a stranger knows who the offer is for.
Business brief: [paste brief]
Choose the clearest option—not necessarily the most dramatic one. A good headline makes the right visitor feel recognized.
Prompt 3: Use Problem → Solution → Proof → Action
Write a landing-page section using this structure:
Problem: describe what my audience is dealing with.
Solution: explain how [offer] helps.
Proof: suggest 3 ethical proof options I could add, without inventing testimonials, numbers, or results.
Action: write a low-friction CTA and one supporting sentence.
My audience is [audience]. My offer is [offer]. My real proof is [proof]. Tone: [tone]. Keep the full section under 250 words.
The instruction not to invent proof matters. AI should help you present real evidence, not manufacture it.
Prompt 4: Handle buyer objections
List the 10 most likely reasons someone might hesitate before buying [offer]. Group them into price, trust, time, fit, technical difficulty, and risk. For the top 5 objections, write a short honest response using this format: acknowledge the concern, clarify what is true, explain who the offer is and is not for, then suggest the next step. Do not use pressure, fake scarcity, or guarantees.
Objection copy works best when it respects the reader. Do not argue with a concern that is actually valid.
Prompt 5: Edit the copy so it sounds human
Edit the copy below for clarity and natural tone. Keep the meaning and factual claims. Remove clichés, inflated promises, filler, corporate jargon, and repeated ideas. Use short paragraphs, concrete verbs, and direct language. Flag any claim that needs proof instead of silently rewriting it as fact. Return: 1) revised copy, 2) a list of claims I should verify.
Copy: [paste copy]
This final prompt is an editing pass, not a replacement for your judgment. Read the result aloud. If you would not say it to a customer, revise it.
The five-minute conversion check
After using the prompts, check every page:
Can a stranger tell who the offer is for?
Is the customer problem specific?
Does the page explain the outcome?
Is there proof that is real and relevant?
Is the CTA clear?
Are the price, process, and expectations understandable?
Does the page sound like your business?
Good website copy does not need to sound clever. It needs to make the right person feel confident about the next step.
